The latest version of the successful Mite floor lamp updated in 2021. Designed by Marc Sadler for Foscarini. A fresh introduction to the successful Mite range, now with improved LED lighting and with a Marquinia marble base.

The volume of the lamp is the same as the original, but the carbon thread is much thinner and designs a wider spiral that gets thicker in the bottom part towards the base.

Base now in black Marquiña marble - This deep black stone is crossed by irregular white and light grey veins, more or less marked with a diagonal pattern, a detail that gives the marble an original appearance.

The new Mite is equipped with two new LED boards that have different and complementary functions: the first projects a direct and diffused light upwards, the second has the function of illuminating the entire diffuser from the top to the base. The result is a wider light distribution in the environment and a complete illumination of the diffuser.

A lamp that, despite its imposing size, was lightweight with slender outline; a seductive and luminous body, innovatively shaped, timeless. Contemporary material, a mix of fiberglass and carbonium thread, which acts both as ornament and supporting structure. The technology behind this project is the same as used in golf club manufacture, but Foscarini was the first to use it in the lighting field.

Winner of the Compasso D’Oro award in 2001.

ABOUT FOSCARINI - Foscarini focuses on developing new products but chooses only to put into production those that express new ideas. While inspiration is always valued, Foscarini's development phase sometimes takes years of progressive research to analyze materials, shapes, processes and operating modes that sometimes lead to results drastically different from the initial concept. This is why Foscarini lamps are so innovative yet built to weather the whim of trends and become true classics. Foscarini's headquarters are housed in an architect-designed, contemporary building in sync with its corporate mission to provide cutting edge design and sales service with logistics and warehousing providing total quality control. In the mid 1990's, Foscarini's wish to provide design service to international markets led to a strategic move from the island of Murano to Marcon, on the Venetian terra firma. Here, they built a new facility, whose modern aesthetic is aligned with Foscarini's creative corporate spirit. They are certified UNI EN ISO 9001 which guarantees the quality of all the company processes, from designing to production, to customer services.
