People often rush to install pendants over kitchen islands but we've noticed an emerging trend; Decorative flush mount fittings seem to be on the increase. Why? Well one reason is that they do not obscure the view. Be that the view of the person opposite you or the view of your garden beyond. Particularly in applications where ceiling height is lower, pendants can end up being a bit of a pain.
Below are a couple of examples from Grossmann of kitchens where pendants have not been used and flush ceiling lights installed instead. We think the results are pretty stunning.
